The last 60 kilometres to the Soo were difficult and beautiful. We are thankful to be done the long winding hilly stretch that is North Ontario from Kenora to Sault Sainte Marie. Many bikers say that it is the most treacherous part of the cycling journey across Canada, even more demanding than the Rockies. The shoulder is frequently narrow and even disappears in some places and frigid winds blow off of Lake Superior.
Here is a short video of our visit to Sault MP Brian Hayes’s office and the Sault RCMP.
We are still waiting on to hear back from Mr. Harper’s office and every single police station we have stopped at so far.
Our next major stop will be in Toronto. From here we are going south through Manitoulin. Thanks a million to Jason Lloyd and Mar for their Sault hospitality and the company of their beautiful dogs!
